Christy Jeck

Described as a composer working at the intersection of raw intimacy and brazen adventure, Christy Jeck (b. 1980) has composed chamber, wind band, orchestral, vocal and piano works performed throughout the United States. Jeck has held positions as both a middle school and high school band director during her career as an educator, for which she integrates her work as a composer to inspire young musicians to use their entire toolbox to make music. Jeck is an enthusiastic clinician and conductor, an avid performer on clarinet and piano, an active listener and concertgoer, and a lifelong learner.

An advocate for living composers in the classroom, Christy holds a degree in Music Education with an emphasis in music composition and instrumental music from Florida Southern College. Her principal teachers include Scott McAllister, Kincaid Rabb and Kevin Day.
